The Brunch From Beyond

In the Sicilian city of Palermo, there is but one presumption: brunch is the breath of life. Chef Jittle brings this same old country mantra to Park Avenue with no apology. While an avocado dollop and a screwdriver suffices for some elsewhere in town, SOFIA brings forth a brunch fit for Rochester and royalty. Get ready to relax, Rochester, while three courses of equal parts energizing and comfort await your arrival, whenever that may be (no judgment!).

Private Events for Your People

SOFIA is synonymous with square footage. Our newly renovated home now features a private dining room for your next intimate affair, with dedicated staff to host and help your family and guests to create and enjoy an unforgettable evening of taste and togetherness.

We also offer a secure locker in the room for your guests to place their mobile phones to prevent digital temptation and promote (force?) human connection. Many have informed guests to bring traditional cameras to the engagement so that they may still capture the night.

Through our partnership with Sammie’s Sweets, taste-tingling delights are concocted daily and delivered fresh for arrival just in time to see the last of your entree disappear from your plate. Whatever you do, you must try the orange ricotta cheesecake.

The namesake of our restaurant started as an exuberant barista from the outskirts of Palermo, Sicily; making sure both family and friend were greeted with their morning coffee prepared with an artisan’s attention, matched with the swiftness of steed. Our resident barista Carlos has trained and competed in many forms of café to continue her legacy of excellence in espresso.

Dining Delights by SOFIA

At the outset of the SOFIA journey, we knew it was going to take the recruitment of a renegade virtuoso chef to fully actualize the Italian fusion movement started by Sofia Marioluigi in Palermo at the original Sofia’s in the summer of 1976. By chance encounter in a Milanese alleyway, our ownership group found Beremy begging for ingredients and drugs to help him create what we discovered to be a uniquely tantalizing take on herb gnocchi over an open barrel fire beneath the Italian twilight. We spent the subsequent weeks and months following him, alluring him, becoming a part of his process, and ultimately wooing him to bring his visionary approach to Italian “cookitechture”, as he calls it, to our very own Park Avenue. We invite you to taste his passion, and to see why we felt he was the only human capable of capturing the taste sensations of our beloved mother Sofia.
